This is called "Black." and it's the first new track The-Dream has dropped since his split from Def Jam back in January. It is very clearly a political statement, and hopefully it's indicative of more new stuff to come.

If you've been paying attention, you know that Terius has been teasing this video since around that time, posting pictures of civil rights leaders as well people like his grandmother tagged with #onyx. That's of course a call back to a line from "Shut It Down," but perhaps it also has some very strong meaning behind it.

What's most important is The-Dream is very clearly working on something. His attitude seems lighter and more inspired post-Def Jam, and he seems to be ramping up towards some finished product. An album just has to be coming, and I'm just going to throw a prediction out there: it's going to be called Onyx.
